Aston Villa and Birmingham City will renew their rivalry this week as they battle in the Capital One Cup.

After nearly five years without facing each other, with Birmingham relegated to the Championship in 2011, the two city rivals finally lock horns again on Tuesday night at Villa Park in what promises to be a mouthwatering clash.

Villa boss Tim Sherwood saw his side lose a derby on Saturday with a 1-0 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion, but few changes are expected.

Rudy Gestede could start up front in a bid to get the forward firing again, with a supply line of Jack Grealish, Scott Sinclair and Carles Gil - though starting Gabriel Agbonlahor, who used to score regularly against Birmingham, is a real option for Sherwood.

Meanwhile, Birmingham City are coming off a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Friday night, and Gary Rowett is likely to stick with most of the same side - though Paul Caddis looks set to come in at right back for Neal Eardley.

The Blues will be hoping to spring an upset at Villa Park, and reclaim bragging rights having not faced their biggest rivals for so long.
