Alan Shearer says Papiss Cisse doesn’t want to be at Newcastle

Alan Shearer does not seem to be a fan of Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse.

Alan Shearer has written in The Sun that he does not think that Papiss Cisse wants to play for Newcastle United anymore.

The Newcastle legend made the comments following the Magpies’ 2-1 defeat to Watford at home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The performance of Steve McClaren’s side against the Hornets at St. James’ Park was once again dire, and former England international striker Shearer was far from impressed with the shift put in by Cisse.

“Papiss Cisse had one great chance and scuffed it wide,” the 45-year-old wrote in the Sun. “Other than that, he didn’t really have a lot to do.

“He clearly doesn’t want to be at the club. You wonder what effect that is having on the dressing room.”

Cisse started the Premier League match against Watford and played for the first 45 minutes.

During his time on the pitch, the 30-year-old striker took two shots and had a pass accuracy of 63%.

The Senegal international has not been playing well this season and has scored just one goal in six Premier League appearances.

Cisse has created three chances, has a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 43%, and has won one header and four tackles.
