West Brom fans react on Twitter after Berahino's performance against Aston Villa

Saido Berahino bagged the winning goal in West Brom's 1-0 victory over Aston Villa.

West Bromwich Albion notched their second win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa in their West Midlands derby on Saturday afternoon.

After last weekend's 0-0 draw with Southampton, manager Tony Pulis was looking for bragging rights over their local rivals Villa - and left with all three points.

Striker Saido Berahino bounced back from the recent controversy surrounding his future to start the game and bag the winning goal, diverting James Morrison's shot past Brad Guzan and into the net to score the only goal of the match.

West Brom recently confirmed on their official website that Berahino had submitted a transfer request in a bid to leave The Hawthorns, whilst Sky Sports reported on deadline day almost three weeks ago that Premier League rivals Tottenham had seen four bids rejected for Berahino's services.

Berahino was left out of the starting line up against Southampton a week ago, but manager PUlis chose to bring back in to the fold against Villa - and fans were largely delighted to see him make such a big impact.

Supporters took to Twitter after the game in order to praise Berahino's performance, with many forgiving him for trying to engineer a move away from the club before the transfer deadline.

Others may take a little more convincing, but West Brom fans praised the striker's display against Villa, with some even pleading with him to sign a new contract.
