Reid was one of the best players for the Hammers during their surprise 2-1 victory over Manchester City away from home in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The New Zealand international defender started the game at the Etihad Stadium and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The 27-year-old was a rock at the back for the Hammers and kept the City attackers at bay in the second half.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, Reid took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 80%, won 67% of his tackles and 67% of his headers, and made five interceptions, 21 clearances and four blocks.
Chelsea-owned winger Moses, who opened the scoring for West Ham with a delightful goal in the first half, has highlighted the importance of Reid’s performance in the win against City.
“When it was 2-0 I thought we could have scored more goals, but then City scored and we had to defend really well in the second half,” the 24-year-old Nigeria international told Sky Sports.
“Reid was on fire today, everyone at the back was solid and we deserved the win. They have great players and were pushing to try to score but it wasn’t the day for them.”
Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Etihad Stadium, visitors West Ham had just 28% of the possession, took six shots of which three were on target, and earned three corners.
Slaven Bilic’s side are only three points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City in the standings.
