The winger appears to have made a full recovery.
There have not been many things to smile about at Sunderland so far this season. The club are struggling near the foot of the table, lost to Bournemouth yesterday and their defenders are really struggling this term.
But one happy development at the club this season has been the development of young winger Duncan Watmore.
The wide-man has made a great impact for the club when he has been given the chance to feature, even scoring his first goal for the club earlier this season.
Despite this he is not yet a regular in the starting XI and missed yesterday’s game with Bournemouth through illness.
However, he could not have been that ill!
Watmore stole the show today for the Sunderland Under-21s. They defeated Manchester City’s Under-21s 3-0 in the Barclays Under-21 League earlier today – with Watmore scoring all three goals for Sunderland’s back-up team.
He scored two goals within eight minutes of the start before completing his hat-trick with a penalty.
Watmore has already become a firm favourite with the Sunderland fans after his impressive cameos in the first-team and after netting this treble the clamour to bring Watmore into the starting XI is sure to increase.
