The Tottenham Hotspur boss has been talking about his Argentine international winger.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been talking about Erik Lamela following his side’s 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon, with his comments later posted on the club’s Twitter account.
The Argentine is starting to look like the footballer Tottenham initially paid so much money for and if he continues like this he will be a vital player for Pochettino this season.
The Spurs boss was certainly happy with Lamela’s contribution and said as much after the match.
“That goal was good,” Pochettino said. “We fully deserved it and I’m happy because we dominated. Erik Lamela was fantastic; I am happy for him.”
For the second week running Lamela played a vital role in a decisive goal, this time linking up with Christian Eriksen before Heung-Min Son was sent through to finish past the goalkeeper.
Last weekend it was Lamela’s brilliant quick-passing move with Harry Kane and Ryan Mason that led to the latter scoring the match-winner and now 23, it seems the Argentine is finally coming into form at White Hart Lane.
There is still a long way to go, but after an injury-hit first season and a patchy second, this could be the year when Lamela proves the remaining doubters wrong and becomes a firm fan favourite at Tottenham.
