Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury uses expletive to describe penalty miss, apologises to fans on Twitter

The talisman missed a late penalty against Middlesbrough yesterday.

Nottingham Forest suffered defeat yesterday, falling to a 2-1 defeat against promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough at the City Ground, they had only themselves to blame for not claiming at least a point from the fixture.

Mistakes from Matt Mills and Kelvin Wilson cost Forest for both goals and then there was the penalty opportunity.

Midfielder Henri Lansbury stepped up late in the game to try and earn Forest a deserved point but the midfielder – who assisted Mills’ goal for The Reds – hit the ball straight at Boro stopper Dimi Konstantopoulos.

It was a bad penalty and Forest fans were rightly disappointed in the fact Lansbury did not manage to take advantage from the spot.

They were not alone, the man himself was equally upset. He took to Twitter last night to congratulate his team-mates on what was a good performance. He also described his penalty in less than subtle terms (some bad language present):

Forest fans will just hope that in future Lansbury slams the ball into the back of the net, rather than trying it down the middle.
