Leeds United defeated Milton Keynes Dons 2-1 away from home in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The West Yorkshire outfit took the lead at Stadium:mk just past the half-hour mark when Wood found the target from close range.
Carl Baker pulled down Charlie Taylor inside The Dons’ penalty box, and the striker made no mistake from 12 yards.
Taylor made it 2-0 to Leeds just before the half-time interval, and although Simon Church halved the deficit for the hosts in the 74th minute, Karl Robinson’s side failed to stage a comeback as Samir Carruthers was dismissed on 78 minutes.
Following the match, Wood and Cooper took to Twitter to revel in the triumph:
Massive 3pts!! Good team performance from the lads. Dug deep. What a great traveling support! On to the next one! #Lufc— Chris Wood (@officialcwood) September 19, 2015
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Stadium:mk, Leeds had 43% of the possession, took 14 shots of which five were on target, and earned three corners.
Uwe Rosler’s team are now 10th in the Championship table with 11 points from eight matches, just a point behind sixth-place Reading.
