Charlie Austin reacts on Twitter to Danny Ings' performance v Norwich

The Queens Park Rangers striker heaped praise on the Liverpool forward's goalscoring display against the Canaries.

QPR striker Charlie Austin was delighted for Liverpool forward Danny Ings on Twitter after the 23-year-old scored during his side's 1-1 draw with Norwich City.

The Reds were ultimately left disappointed against the Canaries but, without Ings, it could have been even worse.

The former Burnley man came on to replace Christian Benteke at half-time and QPR forward Austin congratulated him on social media, predicting even more goals for the Liverpool forward.

Both were netting frequently for sides that were relegated from the Premier League last season but Austin has remained with QPR in the Championship despite plenty of summer speculation - unlike Ings.

Despite being brought on against Norwich, Ings may find himself wasted under Brendan Rodgers. At Manchester United, the hapless Liverpool boss played him as a left wing-back.

When he came on, Ings looked perfect for the Norwich game but, naturally, Rodgers couldn't identify that going into the clash.

Still, there's hope for the 23-year-old if he makes himself simply undroppable. QPR's Austin is clearly a fan and he knows a thing or two about being a good striker.
