Tottenham won their third successive competitive match, as they defeated Palace 1-0 at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.
Son Heung-min’s goal midway through the second half proved to be the difference between the two teams in North London.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, hosts Spurs had 57% of the possession, took 22 shots of which just six were on target, and earned six corners.
Visitors Palace had 43% of the possession, took 12 shots of which four were on target, and earned five corners.
Former Tottenham goalkeeper Friedel was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Spurs very good after playing mid week against a palace team that was outstanding away last season. Young team...good things to come!— bradley h friedel (@friedel_b) September 20, 2015
Tell you what, England has some real talent finally coming through. Very excited by Dele Alli.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) September 20, 2015
Alli retained his place in Tottenham’s starting lineup and was superb against London rivals Palace.
The 19-year-old midfielder was hugely confident when going forward and did not hesitate to try his luck on goal.
The England Under-21 international took four shots, had a pass accuracy of 78%, created two chances, put in one cross, attempted three dribbles, and made four interceptions, four clearances and three blocks.
