Berahino, McClean, Olsson and Foster react to West Brom's victory against Villa

West Brom - The Hawthorns

West Bromwich Albion defeated Aston Villa this weekend and some of their players have since had their say on Twitter.

West Bromwich Albion defeated their fierce rivals Aston Villa 1-0 on Saturday and some of the Baggies’ players were quick to celebrate on social media.

The win came courtesy of a 39th-minute strike from Saido Berahino and whatever happened during the summer regarding his protracted transfer saga, all is clearly forgiven after he got back to what he does best.

West Brom were the better side for much of the encounter and Villa’s return of just three shots on target in the entire match was simply not good enough.

The win took West Brom up to 10th in the table and gave Tony Pulis’s side a real boost as they built on their 0-0 draw against Southampton directly after the international break.

Following the win, West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster – who is currently side-lined through injury – celebrated on Twitter, as did defender Jonas Olsson and attacker James McClean.

“Get in,” Olsson wrote. “Few things better than three points in a local derby; glad to play a part even if it was a small one. Up the Baggies!”

Goal-scorer Berahino also had his say, writing, “God work never fails; as a team we was (sic) fantastic, what a great result.”

West Brom’s next match is against Norwich City in the Capital One Cup before they take on Everton in the league later in the month.
