The Manchester United defender suffered a double leg fracture earlier this week,
Luke Shaw is on his way back to England today after his horrific leg break in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The England international has had two operations on the double fracture sustained in a challenge with Mexican defender Hector Moreno in United’s opening Champions League tie of the season.
He has been being treated in the St Anna hospital in Eindhoven, where they have truly worked wonders on the youngster, in order to give him the best chance of making a speedy and full recovery to the football pitch.
Shaw has now taken to Instagram to share his gratitude for all the staff at the club and send a determined message to his fans regarding his recovery.
It is also the first (official) photo of the defender since the injury and it is great to see him in such high spirits.
He can take comfort in the fact that his leg break does not look career threatening. The man who injured him for example, Hector Moreno, suffered a similar leg-break at the World cup in 2014 and was back within six months.
Shaw however will now just have to go through recovery slowly, day by day, and hope to return to the pitch as soon as possible.
