Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has all but confirmed the latest reports about his injury on social networking site Twitter.
According to a Sky Sports report earlier today, the 25-year-old has broken a bone in his right foot and will be out of action for up to eight weeks.
Although Liverpool have yet to confirm it, the former Sunderland star has admitted his frustration at the latest setback on Twitter.
Very disappointed and frustrated with the injury setback but will work hard to be back as quickly as possible— Jordan Henderson (@JHenderson) September 19, 2015
Will be supporting the team in every way I can while I'm unable to play. Thanks for all of your support— Jordan Henderson (@JHenderson) September 19, 2015
Henderson suffered the injury in training on Friday having only just returned to Melwood after flying out to the USA this week to see a specialist about his heel problem on the other foot, according to Sky Sports.
The reported long-term injury layoff is a huge blow to Liverpool, who have made a disappointing start to the 2015-16 Premier League campaign.
Henderson, who is the club captain, is one of the first names on the teamsheet and is a key player for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
