Joey Barton reacts on Twitter to West Ham win

West Ham United won 2-1 against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League this evening.

Burnley midfielder Joey Barton has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to West Ham United’s win against Manchester City this evening.

West Ham staged somewhat of an upset, as they got the better of City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

Chelsea-owned winger Victor Moses put the Hammers ahead after just six minutes, and Diafra Sakho doubled the advantage just past the half-hour mark.

Kevin De Bruyne fired home for City on the stroke of half time, but West Ham kept out City in the second 45 minutes.

Former Newcastle United and City midfielder Barton was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of the West Ham players, especially that of Dimitri Payet.

Dean Ashton, who played for West Ham from 2006 to 2009, was impressed with the team’s first-half performance, while ESPN expert Craig Burley hailed Hammers goalkeeper Adrian.

The win at the Etihad has lifted West Ham up to second in the Premier League table with 12 points from six matches, just three points behind leaders City.

The victory means that Slaven Bilic’s side have won all three of their away games in the league, having already defeated Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium and Anfield respectively earlier this season.
