De Jong sends message on Twitter ahead of Watford clash, Newcastle fans respond

St James Park

Newcastle United will take on Watford at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday.

Newcastle United attacker Siem de Jong has taken to social networking site Twitter to state that he is getting stronger with every passing week.

The 26-year-old Netherlands international, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a striker, has yet to take the Premier League by storm.

De Jong joined Newcastle from Dutch giants Ajax in the summer of 2014 amid hype and expectations, but injuries and illness have impeded his progress at St. James’ Park.

The Dutchman has been getting some minutes this season, though, and he believes that he is getting stronger.

De Jong has featured in three Premier League games for the Magpies so far this campaign.

The Netherlands international has a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 100%, and has won one tackle.

Ahead of Newcastle’s Premier League clash against Watford at St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon, De Jong has posted the following message on Twitter, to which the fans have responded.
