Chelsea welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge this afternoon in a match Jose Mourinho’s side will be desperate not to lose.

The Blues got back to winning ways in the Champions League last week while the Gunners lost 2-1 to Dinamo Zagreb, but domestically Chelsea still have a lot of work to do.

The reigning Premier League champions are currently 17th in the table after picking up just four points from their first five matches, and if results go against them this weekend they could slip into the bottom three.

As for Arsenal, they are fourth and have impressed in the league in recent times, but a trip to Stamford Bridge is never an easy proposition.

Chelsea have not lost three successive league games since October 1999 and they will not want to start now, but they can take confidence in Arsenal’s poor recent record against them.

Arsene Wenger got his first win against Mourinho in what was his 14th try when the two sides met in this season’s Community Shield, but it remains to be seen if that has really ended the hoodoo.
