The Frenchman was magnificent against The Gunners.
There is no doubt that the man grabbing the headlines after the Chelsea win against Arsenal yesterday afternoon was striker Diego Costa.
The Spanish striker ‘earned’ a red card for Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista in the game and was named man-of-the-match after the game by his own boss Jose Mourinho.
However, another name certainly deserved an honourable mention.
Chelsea boss Mourinho left John Terry out of the game yesterday with young French defender Kurt Zouma called in to start once again and he was magnificent.
Arsenal played Theo Walcott in the tie, hoping to use his pace against John Terry. However, the England international could not get the better of Zouma throughout the game and the former Saint Etienne man was in exceptional form throughout.
Not only was he a rock at the back, but a threat at the other end as well.
Zouma scored the opening goal for Chelsea, latching on to a Cesc Fabregas free-kick at the back post to nod beyond his brief former team-mate Petr Cech.
It was an excellent performance from the youngster and if he keeps this up, Terry might have to get used to watching from the bench…
