Best passers in the Premier League - Two Arsenal players lead the way, with Bournemouth midfielder Andrew Surman a shock presence

Cazorla Corner

Yaya Toure and Cesc Fabregas make up the top five.

The Premier League is now five games old and whilst things are still in their early days, as clear from the fact Chelsea are currently hovering above the relegation zone, plenty of other places in the league are starting to look like the norm.

So what can we tell from the statistics after just five games?

For instance, who has completed the most passes in the league?

Well it is no surprise to see Arsenal at the top of the table – with two of their players leading the way.

In recent times Santi Cazorla has become one of the more impressive players in the Arsenal team. The Spaniard’s passing and guile make him an excellent member of the first-team under Arsene Wenger and it seems Aaron Ramsey is also catching the passing bug. He is in second place in the running – although if those passes are proving effective or not remains up for debate.

Yaya Toure however has been in great form himself. He is in joint second with Ramsey, although has more forward passes which might qualify him for second outright.

Cesc Fabregas of Chelsea sits in fifth but there is something of a surprise in the placing of Andrew Surman of AFC Bournemouth. The former Southampton youngster has had a strong start to his career in the Premier League and will be hoping to carry on that form and lead the Bournemouth fight for survival.
