Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand said on the Football Tonight show on BT Sport Europe on Friday night that he would prefer to work with Jose Mourinho to playing under Arsene Wenger.
Mourinho is the Chelsea manager at the moment, while Wenger is currently in charge of London rivals Arsenal.
Chelsea and Arsenal will face each other at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Former West Ham United and Leeds United centre-back Ferdinand has explained why he would rather play for Mourinho than for Wenger.
“Mourinho,” said Ferdinand when asked who he would prefer to play for: Wenger or Mourinho. “I think he is someone who gets the best out of his players.
“You see when he left Inter Milan, when he left Chelsea the first time, the players were emotional about him leaving. He generates a bond between him and his players. I would really enjoy that.”
Chelsea will head into the game on Saturday on the back of a 4-0 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League Group G.
That win on Wednesday followed a 3-1 loss to Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League last weekend.
Arsenal have fared better than their London rivals in the league so far this season and defeated Stoke City 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.
However, on Wednesday the Gunners suffered a 2-1 defeat to Dynamo Zagreb away from home in the Champions League Group F.
