Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri offers team brilliant clean sheet bonus

As bonuses go, we reckon this one is all sorts of brilliant, and very tasty!

You would imagine that footballers wouldn't need an added incentive to try and keep a clean sheet, surely it is their job to keep one! However, players get loads of extras to ensure their side are not letting in sloppy goals and giving their goalkeeper very little work.

And while some teams just offer a few (thousand) quid, Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has decided to move away from giving extra money, and offer his players... pizza!

We're not sure if Ranieri is doing anything for Italian stereotypes but he reckons he will be able to convince his players to keep going with their unbeaten start to the season.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Italian manager said: "I want to buy pizza but my players don't want pizza, maybe they don't love pizza," Ranieri said.

"Because I said when we make a clean sheet, I will buy everybody a pizza. Maybe they wait until I say 'Okay, a good dinner'.

"I told them, the clean sheet, I buy everybody a pizza. I think they wait until I improve my offer, okay a pizza and a hot dog."

With the Foxes managing to pull off a great comeback against Aston Villa last time out, Ranieri will be hoping that momentum and the offer of free pizza, or a free dinner, can help his side to another clean sheet.
