Celtic drew 2-2 at Ajax but there were contrasting evenings for two of their players.
With Commons, the Norwegian was discussing the 32-year-old's experience, quality and ability to create chances - which was on show for all to see in Amsterdam. With Izaguirre, however, Deila was answering questions about why he hadn't substituted the Honduran before he was sent off.
And there are no two ways about it: one impressed at Ajax, the other produced another disappointing display.
As statistics from WhoScored.com show, Commons created no less than six chances for the Bhoys on Thursday night. In total, Celtic created only eight. Two of his six key passes also led to goals, while the 32-year-old completed 80 per cent of his passes. Crossing-wise, Commons shone even further, landing five out of eight deliveries.
By comparison, Izaguirre's figures on WhoScored were poor - and that's a nice way of putting it. With an overall statistical rating of 5.49 out of 10, the 29-year-old landed neither of the two crosses he attempted, completing a lowly 70.6% of his passes.
The stat that summed the Celtic defender's night up, however, was the fact he only won one tackle yet committed three fouls. No wonder he was sent off...
