Wimmer joined Tottenham from German club FC Koln in the summer transfer window, while Son moved to the Premier League outfit from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen last month.
The 22-year-old centre-back made his debut for Spurs against FK Qarabag in the Europa League Group J encounter at White Hart Lane on Thursday evening.
The star of the show was Son, as he scored twice to help Tottenham to a 3-1 away win.
Wimmer was delighted with his debut and with Son’s performance, and he has also underlined an interesting link between him and his Tottenham teammate.
Until his move to Tottenham in the summer, 23-year-old South Korea international forward Son had played in Germany his entire professional career.
Speaking the same language is certainly going to help both Son and Wimmer settle into life at Tottenham better and grow together at White Hart Lane.
