Tottenham Hotspur may have had something of a scare, but it was a pretty good night for Mauricio Pochettino's side as they got their Europa League campaign off to a flying start with a 3-1 win over Qarabag.
The big positive for Spurs will be their new signing Son Heung-Min finding the net twice after Kieran Trippier had conceded an early penalty - with Richard Almeida converting from the spot. Son was allowed to show just why Spurs paid the reported – according to the Daily Mail - £21.9 million fee to bring him to White Hart Lane from Bayer Leverkusen.
He was given the role of leading the line as the lone striker - with Harry Kane starting the game on the bench - and struck twice in different, but accomplished ways as he benefited from the good work of promising midfielder Dele Alli - who could be one of the best pieces of business the club has done in the long term.
Erik Lamela may not have convinced in the Premier League, but he seems at home in this competition as he hit the post and rounded off the scoring in style late on. All in all, Spurs can take plenty of positives from back-to-back wins in all competitions for the first time this season.
