Marco Silvestri has not been in great form for Leeds United so far this season.
The Italian is one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship, but he has been in disappointing form so far this season.
The 24-year-old was at fault for Ipswich Town’s goal against Leeds at Elland Road in the Championship on Tuesday.
Silvestri failed to deal with a corner just past the half-hour mark, and Tommy Smith made no mistake with his header.
The former Italy Under-21 international has been criticised for his disappointing performance against Ipswich, but Leeds head coach Rosler has played them down.
“We have to cope with criticism – that counts for everybody, including Marco,” the German told Leeds’ official website.
“We all have to deal with this – it’s part of playing for Leeds United. Sometimes the criticism is correct, sometimes it is unfair.
“In the end, we are professionals. We have to put that to one side and concentrate on our daily work. We will only get better by working every day to our maximum and improving every day.”
It seems that Rosler is not going to publicly criticise Silvestri and has complete faith in the Italian’s ability.
Silvestri is the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for Leeds, but he needs to step up his game and be more confident between the sticks.
Leeds are back in Championship action on Saturday when they take on MK Dons away from home, and it will be interesting to see if Rosler includes the Italian in his starting lineup.
