Report: Barcelona expect new Neymar deal

Barcelona remain confident that Neymar will end speculation over his future by signing a new deal.

Barcelona insist contract talks with Neymar are progressing nicely as they look to secure the Brazilian's future at the Nou Camp, as reported by TV3.

According to reports in the Sun over the summer, Manchester United were lining up a sensational late move for Neymar before the transfer window closed.

However, the deadline passed and Neymar remained at Barcelona, with the Catalan giants giving little thought to letting the skilful attacker leave the club.

Neymar's current deal still has three years left to run, but Barcelona are determined to tie him down to a new long-term contract to ward off interest from potential suitors.

Barcelona's technical director Robert Fernandez has confirmed that talks are ongoing with Neymar and that the club expect the Brazil international and team-mate Rafinha to agree fresh terms in the near future.

"They're on track. They're very important players who will be at Barcelona for many years," Fernandez told TV3.

Neymar has established himself as one of the best players in the world after impressing for club and country over the last two years following his arrival from Santos.

The South American enjoyed an incredibly successful season for Barcelona last term, helping the club to win La Liga, Copa Del Rey and Champions League titles.
