Wednesday lost 3-1 to Burnley and drew 0-0 with Bolton Wanderers in their last two outings, but Lee's displays still impressed Carvalhal.
He says that the 27-year-old's partnership with Barry Bannan in central midfield has been excellent, and sets an example to the rest of his teammates as to the standard they should be trying to emulate.

Lee's form in the centre of the park has forced Lewis McGugan out of the team, which is proving a divisive issue at the moment.
McGugan was one of Wednesday's star players last term, but he has not played since the middle of August this time around and was not even on the substitutes' bench in the club's last two games.
With Carvalhal purring about his central midfield partnership, it seems that it may be some time before the former Watford man comes back into contention.
Wednesday's next match comes against Fulham on Saturday, where they will be aiming to end their run of six Championship fixtures without a victory.
