Angelo Ogbonna out for four games - How should West Ham deal with latest injury blow?

The West Ham United defender is out for nearly a month and West Ham have three realistic options to replace him.

p>West Ham United have been dealt an injury blow after it was revealed that Italian defender Angelo Ogbonna would miss the next four West Ham fixtures with a hamstring problem.

The defender has been impressive in recent weeks and his injury will not be welcome news to Hammers fans. He is now set to miss fixtures with Manchester City, Norwich City, Sunderland and a League Cup fixture with Leicester City.

So how do West Ham replace him?

This season has Slaven Bilic prefer Ogbonna and Winston Reid as his central defensive partnership, with James Tomkins either out of the side or at right-back and he is the obvious choice to come in and replace the summer signing from Juventus – with Carl Jenkinson playing at right-back.

There is also James Collins to consider. However, West Ham appear to have moved on from the Welshman.

A third option is talented teenager Reece Oxford. Certainly better suited to central midfield the 16-year-old has handled himself wherever he has played so far and West Ham may consider giving him more game time in the coming weeks.

Three options then for Bilic to consider in the absence of his talented and impressive summer acquisition.
