Younes Kaboul has certainly had a difficult start to his career in Sunderland. When Tottenham Hotspur managed to find a buyer for the Frenchman this summer, not many Spurs fans were sad to see him go.
His form has dipped in recent seasons and at the start of the current campaign he showed just why exactly Tottenham were happy to see him go.
He struggled at the start of his Sunderland career as The Black Cats faltered at the start of the campaign.
However, he has improved in his most recent games and has been talking about his improvement in form and where he will be going from here.
He told the official Sunderland website:
“I’m still a bit far from my best because I didn’t have a pre-season, but I’m working hard every day in training to make sure that I’m at it at the weekend.
“I felt better against Villa and I felt better again on Saturday so step by step I will get there.”
Kaboul in fairness had suffered with an injury for much of the summer and is only just getting into the groove of things at Sunderland. He was also paired with Sebastian Coates for the opening fixtures, a combination destined not to succeed.
With John O’Shea he is seeming to be performing better although it has not helped Sunderland’s results.
They remain without a win in the Premier League this season and are joint bottom with local rivals Newcastle United and Kaboul will need to keep improving if they are to start climbing the table.
