Adam Pearson's departure from the club as executive director was confirmed on Tuesday night, with the official reasoning behind his exit being that he is taking a break from football. And that may well be the simple truth.

It isn't just Leeds fans who had plenty to say after Pearson's departure, though, with Sheffield Wednesday supporters being particularly vocal on social media. The Yorkshire rivals recently drew with United but were Pearson's employers just a few months ago.
The 50-year-old left Sheffield Wednesday after a very brief period indeed to join the Whites, with Owls fans responding furiously. On this occasion, they've reacted with a distinct lack of surprise and, naturally, mockery.
