According to Calciomercato, Tottenham winger Erik Lamela is still being courted by two Serie A teams ahead of the January transfer window, despite a deal not being concluded before the pass of the summer transfer deadline.
Lamela was expected to leave White Hart Lane over the summer, with Le Parisien claiming that a deal was in place to let the Argentine international leave for Marseille if Saido Berahino had been signed.
However, West Brom did not sell their striker, meaning Lamela remained in North London, but it could be that he still leaves Spurs in January.
The report claims that Juventus are still keen on bringing him back to Italy, and will consider making a loan offer for a player they believe ‘really wants to return to Italy. Juve want a loan deal with the option to purchase him outright should he impress.
However, the will face competition from Roma, who’s sporting director Walter Sabatini is ‘madly in love with Lamela’. He believes that Lamela could be tempted back to the Giallorossi due to the reputation that he holds with the fans in Rome.
There are no indications now that Spurs are still willing to let go of their struggling star, but if a sizeable offer is made in January, the Lilywhites could have no option but to accept it.
