Nottingham Forest have turned their early season form on its head this week. After an impressive 2-1 win at QPR at the weekend they defeated Birmingham City at St Andrews last night and confidence is rising at the City Ground ahead of a fixture with Middlesbrough at home this weekend.
It is also beginning to transfer onto the fans. Forest supporters, dubious at the start of the season after a difficult spell in the transfer market, are certainly more optimistic after the recent results. They club have also pulled in some top players in the loan market despite the departure of Michail Antonio.
One fan who is certainly happy is England cricketer and Ashes hero Stuart Broad – himself a big Forest fan.
Broad was born in Nottingham and has played with the Nottinghamshire CCC at Trent Bridge, just a stone’s throw away from the City Ground and Broad has decided to sport some rather fetching Nottingham Forest socks in celebration of his team’s recent results.
Forest are now up to eighth in the Championship and will be hoping to keep up this form in the coming weeks and months, with a surprise play-off place surely in the minds of every Forest fan, including Broad.
