Nottingham Forest fans react on Twitter to Henri Lansbury’s performance against Birmingham

Nottingham Forest clinched a 1-0 victory over Birmingham City.

Forest secured an impressive three points by defeating in-form Birmingham City by a one-goal scoreline on Tuesday evening.

The away victory moved Dougie Freedman’s men up to eighth place, sitting just one point off the play-off places, whilst many thought they would be fighting relegation this term.

The win was courtesy of a goal from Dexter Blackstock, but it was another player who put in a match winning performance - Henri Lansbury.

After all the rumours regarding his future at Forest over the summer, Lansbury remained with Freedman’s side, and showed off his Championship quality in the victory.

Sitting in the centre of midfielder, the 24-year-old won two tackles, made two interceptions and completed five clearances. He also registered one shot, two key passes and played 46 overall passes as he controlled play in the midfield.

It was a top class performance from the player who could have been moving away from the City Ground, when the Daily Mail claimed Burnley wanted to sign him for £4 million.

Following the game, Forest fans took to Twitter to react to Lansbury’s performance, with many suggesting that he was the best player on the field.
