Arsenal take on Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, and head coach Zoran Mamic has admitted to FourFourTwo that he has spoken to Slaven Bilic about how to defeat the North London club.
Mamic said: “Yes, I have spoken to Slaven Bilic, he gave me a few words of advice. I have watched Arsenal in many games, I went to see them against Stoke this weekend and I got the impression they were playing in second, third gear, and should have won 10-0!”
Their only defeat so far this season came on the opening day, at the hands of a West Ham side led by Slaven Bilic, a former Croatian teammate of Mamic.
He set-up his Hammers side excellently in that tie, and although helped by some questionable goalkeeping from Petr Cech, the Gunners never looked like coming away with a result.
It was a mixture of tactical brilliance, as well as a lack of match sharpness on the hands of Arsenal's players, but the 2-0 home loss proved that Arsene Wenger’s team were not all they were cracked up to be during pre-season.
If a team of West Ham’s quality could clinch such a convincing victory over the Gunners, Zagreb should fancy their chances this evening, all thanks to the advice of Irons’ head coach Bilic.
