Hull and West Ham fans react on Twitter to Mo Diame's performance

Hull City's Mo Diame scored the opener for Hull against Cardiff, while West Ham fans chortled at him playing in the Championship.

Mohamed Diame produced a match winning performance for Hull City last night, inspiring a 2-0 away win over Cardiff City.

Diame was making just his third start of the season, and scored eight minutes in, before providing an assist for Abel Hernandez's second half goal.

The midfielder was selected by Steve Bruce in an attacking midfield role, a change from the defensive midfield position he impressed in for former clubs West Ham and Wigan.

Despite this he pressed from the front, managing three tackles, the joint highest of any Hull midfielder - matching Tom Huddlestone.

Hull fans were impressed with his display, taking to Twitter to praise his game changing performance...

This is Diame's second season at Hull, after signing last season from West Ham. It was a transfer which backfired, with the midfielder believing he was joining a club on the up, only to see them suffer relegation.

Diame's campaign was wrecked by injury in his debut year, making just 10 starts in the Premier League, with two more appearances from the bench.

The 28-year-old left in acrimonious circumstances, having fallen out with manager Sam Allardyce, with London 24 reporting that he told the Hull Daily Mail he was played out of position as a winger.

His performance last night was a reminder to fans of his former club of his ability, and misfortune to have dropped a division to the Championship.

Here is a look at what they had to say after hearing of Diame's impact...
