Taking to Twitter in the aftermath of Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 victory over Birmingham City, Henri Lansbury praised the team performance put in by Dougie Freedman’s men as they moved to just one point adrift of the play-off places.
Great win great team performance again get in there Nffc great traveling support again— Henri Lansbury (@lansburyhenri) September 15, 2015
Forest clinched their impressive victory thanks to a goal from Dexter Blackstock, who managed to bundle a cross from Jamie Ward over the line.
Considering the form which Birmingham have been in so far this season, the result is an exceptional one for Forest, especially as they were playing away from home and have not been in the greatest form themselves.
However, performances have been improving in recent weeks, and Lansbury’s praise of the team performing as a collective is something fans have been seeing.
Since the departure of Michail Antonio to West Ham, it appears as if Forest are trying to play as a unit again, rather than just giving the ball to their best player in the hope he can create something out of nothing.
Instead, Freedman now has his team fighting for one another, and there is a sense that all players must perform to the best of their ability if they are to truly achieve success.
Selling Antonio may have been considered the downfall of Forest’s season, and the catalyst that could see them fall out of the division, but so far only positives have come from it - positives that both players and fans can see.
