West Ham United hero Dimitri Payet has told the club's official website that he was impressed with Victor Moses' debut against Newcastle United.
Payet, a summer arrival from Marseille, has become a firm fan favourite early into his time at Upton Park, and once again starred on Monday night with two goals against Newcastle.
Playmaker Payet's first goal came with a superb strike from the edge of the box, whilst his second was a tap-in after Moses embarked on a lengthy run and hit the crossbar.
Moses, 24, joined the Hammers from Chelsea on deadline day, penning a season-long loan deal with the club after a similar spell with Stoke City last term.
His debut for the club came against Newcastle, and he immediately impressed the West Ham faithful, producing a number of driving runs forward, showing his pace on numerous occasions.
Now, new team-mate Payet was praised Moses' performance in an interview with the club's official website, suggesting that he already knew the player's quality before his arrival - and believes that he will score a number of goals this season despite hitting the crossbar.
"He deserved to finish with a goal because his run was magnificent, but unfortunately for him and fortunately for me, the crossbar got in his way," said Payet. "But I'm sure, with his quality, he will score plenty of goals this season."
"He's a player that I know because I'd already seen him play, particularly at Chelsea and in the Africa Cup of Nations. He has a lot of quality to enable him to run with the ball and he's very quick. We saw that in the second goal. The ball came back to me again, but he did all the hard work," he added.
With Moses' pace and Payet's playmaking ability, Slaven Bilic could have a dangerous supply line for Diafra Sakho - and their 2-0 win over Newcastle was a glimpse of things to come for West Ham this season.
