Benteke second-highest traded in shirt name this summer, Delph 8th

Benteke Villa

Aston Villa fans have jumped at the chance to trade tops in during the Carling Shirt Amnesty.

The Aston Villa faithful have jumped at the chance to trade their shirts in this summer during the Carling Shirt Amnesty, according to Sky Sports.

The Amnesty gave all football supporters the chance to trade shirts with names of players that have since moved on for ones bearing new signings.

And Christian Benteke was the second-highest traded-in shirt name, with Aston Villa fans swapping the now Liverpool striker's shirt for a variety of names including Scott Sinclair.

Liverpool fans themselves swapped Raheem Sterling's shirt most frequently, with the now Manchester City winger third on the overall list - Angel Di Maria came top.

Sky Sports report that a second Aston Villa summer departee also made the top 10, however, with Fabian Delph coming eighth.

Does that mean Villa supporters were more disappointed to see Benteke go than the midfielder?

There is no question about the manner of Delph's move to Manchester City enraging Aston Villa fans the most but supporters were far keener to offload their Benteke shirts, it appears, with the Belgian having scored twice but looking very isolated since joining Liverpool.
