Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood must leave Gabriel Agbonlahor out for West Brom tie

The striker has problems off the pitch and on them, should Villa bring in Rudy Gestede or Jordan Ayew.

Aston Villa’s season looked to be on its way to an excellent start at the weekend. They were 2-0 up against Leicester City at the weekend, a result which would have seen them rise to ninth in the table.

Instead they threw it away. They conceded three goals late on and lost 3-2 in the game and were left reeling from the defeat.

Tim Sherwood now has to seriously consider the way he lines up his team for the next fixture against West Brom on Saturday and one change that needs to be considered is regarding Gabriel Agbonlahor.

His performances have not been great this season, although the Leicester game might have been one of his best yet. Despite this he offers little up front for the creative players that Villa have behind him and surely Sherwood must be considering letting him go.

Then of course there is also the question of whether recent personal revelations will also impact on his performance.

Villa however would surely do better to give Rudy Gestede the starting position with a combination of Carles Gil, Scott Sinclair and Jack Grealish in behind him.

Agbonlahor needs a period out of the team to rediscover his best form and Gestede deserves a shot from the start. If not Gestede, then Jordan Ayew. The club must

Time for Sherwood to shake things up and give Gestede the chance to get physical with the Baggies this weekend.
