The report claims that the 28-year old will spend time training with the Baggies with a view to a short-term deal, after being without a club since leaving Turkish side Akhisar Belediyespor in the summer.
Vaz Te has represented Portugal at youth level and struggled during his initial spell in English football with Bolton. After a stint in Scotland with Hibs, Vas Te returned to England with Barnsley and enjoyed a fantastic six months - grabbing 10 goals in 22 games - prompting the Hammers to swoop.
Things turned sour after a decent start at Upton Park and the forward eventually handed in a transfer request in August of 2013 after falling out of favour with then-boss Sam Allardyce.
His contract was terminated in January this year and his six month spell in Turkey proved fruitful, with him managing more than a goal every three games with five in 14.
The Hawthorns could now be his next destination and rumours of his potential move were met with widespread derision by Baggies fans.
