Galloway said: “Nothing fazes him, he’s always ready to improve, always ready to perform and, at the football club, we will always do the same thing; when we see a player get ahead of his programme, that needs to be rewarded. That’s not going to be the last contract, it’s just going to be the next step, and we expect Brendan to carry on with his development over the course of the season and in years to come.”
The 19-year-old has established himself in the Everton first-team due to Leighton Baines’ injury, with the former MK Dons man putting in some truly top class displays.
He has not looked fazed when taking on quality opposition, and Galloway has shown his ability as both a defender, but also in the offensive full-back role that Martinez is so keen on.
Martinez believes this progress in the first-team is worth being rewarded by a new contract, and although the Echo report states that there is rival Premier League interest in Galloway, it is not expected that he will turn down the offer to stay at Goodison Park.
The youngster has established himself as a talented Premier League starter, and although Baines only lost his place due to injury, it is hard to argue that he deserves to return to the team when ready due to the impressive form Galloway has enjoyed at the beginning of this season.
