5 goals in 4 games: Nottingham Forest loanee Lars Veldwijk continues excellent form with hat-trick

After netting five goals in his last four games, Nottingham Forest loanee Lars Veldwijk is now the second highest scoring player in the Eredivisie.

Nottingham Forest forward Lars Veldwijk netted a superb hat-trick at the weekend for loan club PEC Zwolle as he climbed above the likes of Dirk Kuyt in the Eredivisie goalscorers' chart.

The 6' 5'' forward, who joined Forest from Excelsior in 2014, has taken his fine pre-season form into the Dutch top flight as he continues to show why he was so highly-rated prior to his move to the City Ground under Stuart Pearce.

Last weekend, he was the difference between Zwolle and former club Excelsior as he netted all three goals in an emphatic 3-0 win over the Eredivisie minnows.

Prior to the game against Excelsior, he had already scored the opener in a 2-1 win over FC Twente and the equaliser against Dutch giants Heerenveen in his two most recent matches - taking his record to an impressive five goals in four games.

Although a sucker punch for Forest, as they had hoped he would show similar form in the Championship, it certainly looks good for when they decide to sell him on a permanent deal as he could go on to become one of the highest rated strikers in Holland.

At 24, he still has age on his side and if he continues to show the form he has done since his move to Zwolle from Forest then it is a distinct possibility the bigger clubs in the Eredivisie will start to take note.

If the likes of Ajax and PSV Eindhoven take a shine to the forward then his resale price could be well-beyond they could have even dreamt of in the summer.
