Ryan Mason was on target for Tottenham Hotspur against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League on Sunday.

Villarreal striker Roberto Soldado has taken to social networking site Twitter to congratulate Ryan Mason on his goal for Tottenham Hotspur against Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.

England international Mason scored the only goal of the Premier League game at the Stadium of Light, as Spurs registered a narrow 1-0 win.

The 24-year-old found the target in the 82nd minute when he dinked his shot past the onrushing Costel Pantilimon.

Soldado, who joined Spanish side Villarreal from Tottenham in the summer transfer window, was following the game, and he was impressed with the goal scored by Mason.

Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas was also following the match at the Stadium of Light, and he was impressed with Mason’s overall performance against Sunderland.

Mason, who enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2014-15, did indeed have a good game in midfield for Spurs against Sunderland.

The Englishman took three shots, had a pass accuracy of 81%, created two chances, put in two crosses and attempted one dribble.
