Forestieri made his debut for Wednesday in the match, after signing from Watford, and although he was unable to stop the Yorkshire outfit from falling to defeat he still impressed his teammates.
The diminutive attacker's skill set compliments the rangy Nuhiu's well and although they had not played together before, Lees was pleased to see them strike up such a good understanding from the off.
“I thought they both played really well and will be disappointed they didn’t score more goals," Lees told Wednesday's official site.
“Obviously Atdhe scored one but he’ll be disappointed he didn’t get more and Fernando will be disappointed not to have got a debut goal. They looked impressive together, caused Burnley a lot of problems and had some nice link-up play.”
Nuhiu was Wednesday's scorer against Burnley, and the target man will be hoping to continue to thrive from the increased service he should receive with a creative player of Forestieri's attacking talents in the team.
The Argentine possesses the ability to deliver the sort of crosses that Nuhiu loves on a regular basis, and their partnership is clearly one which could be very threatening.
Wednesday have a number of attacking options this season, though, after a busy summer, and whether Carlos Carvalhal sticks with the Forestieri-Nuhiu partnership for the side's next game remains to be seen.
That match comes against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night, and the Owls will be keen to get back to winning ways to ensure that they build on their encouraging start to the season.
