Scott Dann insists Crystal Palace must improve home form

Crystal Palace have taken just 16 points from a possible 40 at Selhurst Park since Alan Pardew took over in January.

Scott Dann has insisted in the Mirror that Crystal Palace can still improve, despite making an impressive start to the new campaign.

The Eagles currently occupy fifth place in the Premier League table, and they have put in some eye-catching performances over the first few weeks of the season.

Dann does not feel that the squad has reached their limit yet, though, and he feels that an improvement in their form at Selhurst Park will be important.

“We know we have to improve it, last season it wasn’t good enough and we know it’s something we need to improve on," Dann said to the Daily Mirror

"I don’t think it’s causing many concerns, but we think we have played two of the top teams here. We beat Aston Villa and played two of the best teams and been in the game until the very last seconds so if you read into it too much, it can be a bit false.”

Palace have taken 16 points from the last 40 available to them at home, since Alan Pardew took over as manager in January.

It is a record which comes as a surprise, given their consistently excellent form, but the fact that they have room to improve should be encouraging.

The Eagles most recent home match was against Manchester City, and they fell to a 1-0 defeat in the last minute, but put in a good display.

Their next league match at Selhurst Park is versus West Bromwich Albion, and they will be determined to collect the three points - as they look to make their home ground a fortress.
