The former Newcastle striker believes that if the Hammers play like the way they did against Liverpool at Anfield before the international break, then they should have no problem in picking up all three points from the Premier League encounter.
“The Hammers must be something of a bookmakers’ dream and it must puzzle manager Slaven Bilic how they can lose at home to the likes of (no disrespect to) Leicester and Bournemouth yet beat the pair of Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates and Anfield!” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Providing West Ham play to the level that saw them turn over the Reds 3-0 they should be good for another three points on Monday night.”
West Ham will be favourites to win against Newcastle at home, and it will be a surprise if they suffer a defeat.
The Hammers will head into the game on the back of a 3-0 victory over Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League before the international break.
However, West Ham are yet to win a point at home under manager Slaven Bilic, having lost both of their league games at the Boleyn Ground so far this season.
Visiting Newcastle are struggling at the moment and find themselves third from bottom in the league table.
Steve McClaren’s side have failed to score in their last three Premier League matches.
