Pundit Alan Smith has told Sky Sports that even though Aston Villa lost 3-2 to Leicester on Sunday afternoon, manager Tim Sherwood should be pleased with Jack Grealish, Carles Gil and Scott Sinclair.
Villa took a 2-0 lead at the King Power Stadium, with Grealish and Gil scoring superb shots from outside the box, leaving Kasper Schmeichel with no chance.
However, Villa fell apart with just 20 minutes to play, as Ritchie de Laet pulled one back for Leicester, before Jamie Vardy converted a Danny Drinkwater cross from close range to bring the Foxes level.
Then, with the game heading towards a draw, Leicester completed their remarkable comeback, with Nathan Dyer bagging a late winner for Claudio Ranieri's men.
The collapse will be a huge disappointment for manager Sherwood, but former Arsenal striker Alan Smith has attempted to give the Villa boss something to smile about.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the final whistle against Leicester, Smith suggested that the quality of Villa's goals should please Sherwood - before suggesting that Grealish, Gil and Scott Sinclair are all 'match-winners'.
"The two goals were magnificent, you'd struggle to think of another game where one team scored goals of that quality," said Smith. "What they have got in the team now, through Grealish, Carles Gil and Scott Sinclair, they've got players who can make a difference - they've got match-winners," he added.
Sherwood made plenty of moves in the transfer market over the course of the summer after losing Christian Benteke, with forwards such as Jordan Ayew, Rudy Gestede and Adama Traore all arriving at Villa Park.
Those three players could play big parts for Villa this season, but Sherwood will be encouraged by the perofrmances from Grealish, Gil and Sinclair against Leicester - even after that shocking collapse.
