Southampton played out a goalless draw with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns in the Premier League on Saturday.

Former Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk has given his reaction on Southampton’s official Twitter page to his side’s draw with West Bromwich Albion away from home.

The Saints played out a goalless draw with West Brom at The Hawthorns in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Over the course of the 90 minutes, Southampton had 65% of the possession, took 14 shots of which four were on target, and earned five corners.

Hosts West Brom had 35% of the possession, took eight shots of which just one was on target, and earned four corners.

Van Dijk, who joined Southampton from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic in the summer transfer window, had this to say about the final result:

Southampton are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment with six points from five matches.

The Saints are aiming for a European finish yet again, but they have not made the start they would have wanted to.

Southampton are back in action next weekend when they take on Manchester United at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League.
