Rangers suffered a 2-1 loss to Dougie Freedman’s Forest at Loftus Road in the Championship.
After a goalless first half, the London outfit took the lead in the 65th minute when Charlie Austin found the target from 20 yards.
Forest staged a strong comeback thereafter and equalised 10 minutes later through Henri Lansbury.
Goalkeeper Robert Green had been sent off for bringing down debutant Chris O’Grady inside the QPR penalty box, and midfielder Lansbury made no mistake from the penalty spot.
Nelson Oliveira wrapped up the points for Forest eight minutes from time with a cool finish from close range.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Loftus Road, QPR had 48% of the possession, took nine shots of which two were on target, and earned four corners.
Following the defeat, Rangers chairman Fernandes took to Twitter to express his disappointment, with the club’s fans responding to his comments.
Tough night and morning after game . But let’s take the positives. Long season ahead. Got to move on— Tony Fernandes (@tonyfernandes) September 13, 2015
@tonyfernandes positives? there weren't any Tony? Austin was isolated, we should play 2 out and out strikers when at home!— Alan (@AlanMHarding) September 13, 2015
