Sunderland fans react on Twitter to Kaboul's 'absolutely outstanding' performance today

Sunderland's Younes Kaboul impressed against Tottenham today.

Sunderland slipped to their third defeat of the season after losing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at the Stadium of Light earlier today.

The Black Cats lost their first two games of the campaign before encouraging draws against Swansea City and Aston Villa, but they went back to losing ways this afternoon.

Dick Advocaat's side were more than a match for Tottenham, but a superb team move which culminated in Ryan Mason's dinked finish gave Spurs the 1-0 victory.

The late winner from Mason was a real blow for Sunderland, who had impressed over the course of the game - and particularly defender Younes Kaboul.

The experienced French centre back signed for the Black Cats from Spurs this summer, and was facing his former club for the first time since that transfer.

An outcast under Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane, Kaboul was solid defensively and even impressed going forward with some surprising skill out wide.

Sunderland fans took to Twitter after the game to laud Kaboul, with many suggesting that he was the man of the match, branding him 'absolutely outstanding' in the process.

Here are some of the reactions from Sunderland fans after Kaboul's display against his former club Tottenham earlier today...
