Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the performance of Fernando Forestieri against Burnley on Saturday.
Wednesday failed to return to winning ways in the Championship, as they went down 3-1 to the Clarets at Turf Moor.
David Jones put Burnley in the lead as early as the seventh minute when he fired a free kick past Wednesday goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith.
Atdhe Nuhiu restored parity for the Owls with a header from Pudil's delicate cross on 20 minutes, but the visitors failed to build on that.
Matthew Taylor fired Burnley back in front on 78 minutes, and late on Andre Gray made it 3-1 to the home team.
Forestieri started the match for Wednesday and played for the entire 90 minutes, giving a good account of himself in the process.
The 25-year-old created one chance, had a pass accuracy of 78%, and won one header, three dribbles and one tackle.
The former Italy Under-21 international striker joined the Owls from Premier League outfit Watford in the summer transfer window and made his debut against Burnley.
Forestieri was actually on his way to Leeds in the summer, before Wednesday swooped in and secured his services.
Following the defeat to Burnley, Wednesday fans took to Twitter to have their say on the performance of Forestieri.
Below are some of the best comments:
Forestieri was immense today shame he didn't score but it won't take him long to get his first #swfc— MarkSwfc (@Mark_Swfc95) September 12, 2015
Still can't believe we've lost that game 3-1 today. Once we've got a settled XI we'll be fine. Forestieri and Pudil are quality buys #swfc— Ricky Keogh (@RickyKeogh) September 12, 2015
But, we played OK today. Nuhiu was really good, and Forestieri is the best player we've had for a long time. Defensively dodgy... #swfc— SWFC Transfers (@S6Transfers) September 12, 2015
